Re: The Hell With This Podcast - Master List

*shoots self in face* At this point there's only two indie filmmakers I'm following and you're both trying to kill yourselves. I mean, I admire the dedication, but there's a limit... See, now I just have to find out who the other filmmaker is and kill them. Only then can I shoot myself. NOTE: I HAV...

Re: The Hell With This Podcast - Master List

That was deserved... New episode is ready for release tomorrow, on the plus side. Didn't have to take the high road man, you could've just hit me with "How's that short coming along there, Lance?" Then I'd be like "Shut up, Chad!" and you'd be all " " Missed opportunity man. I mean, Fuck Yeah...

I loved "Sunshine", if that counts for anything. Ending wasn't great, but meh!
And that settles that.

Re: The "I just watched a movie" thread

They introduce all the characters at once in a manner that is totally confusing and then have one of them totally change his appearance, the attempt at legit science would be commendable if it wasn't for the plot being so utterly stupid as to negate it and the fact the pilot is able to move the shi...

Re: The "I just watched a movie" thread

This film should be considered one of the sci-fi greats. Actually, it's a terrible film and an affront to cinema. How so? I dug how Boyle adhered to actual science as much as the plot would allow (e.g., artificial gravity), that water in the oxygen garden was recycled just through condensation, how...

Re: The "I just watched a movie" thread

Sitting through "Sunshine" for the third time. This film should be considered one of the sci-fi greats if it isn't already. Director's commentary is particularly enlightening (no pun intended), and Underworld did an awful lot of the score. The film looks and sounds great.

Re: Untitled Australian Roadtrip Movie

Yeaaaaaaah. Storing footage. Did I mention that I had to film without the ability to keep a backup of the footage? No? Yeah, so that was a thing. 15 terabytes... THAT was the final tally for how much space the raw footage took up. It equated to 6 wallet-sized harddrives, stuffed into a pistol sized...

Just thinning out The Library and a couple of suggestions jumped out at me: Michael Crichton's "The Andromeda Strain" and "Congo." And please, let's not bring up those embarrassments of film production.

"The Circle" - somewhat interesting but forgettable. Not really sure how to call it, but it seemed to fall along "we're describing a situation" rather than "we're telling a story."

Just finished "Moon." WOW. What a cool premise.

Movie production campus coming to...Denver?

Not holding my breath...or even looking it in the eye...but this might be interesting. "A company with ties to Hollywood media production seeks to create a high-tech sound stage and film production center to anchor a 70-acre development in northern Douglas County." https://www.bizjournals.com/denver...

Thanks for confirming what I always knew - I'm the weak link of THWT! I knew it! All I had to do was not show up!
So that's coin toss between..."no-show producer credit" or "Chad's the fucking producer, he makes the introductions and lets the magic happen. Also probably pays for it." So win-win!
