Re: Sci-Fi novel recommendations

What is it with Star Wars tie-in authors mostly having a fantasy background anyways? Threel main reasons I can think of: 1. Star Wars has a lot of fantasy elements to it, almost more in common with epic fantasy than most hard sci-fi or space opera. 2. The fantasy market blew up, so a lot of sf/f wr...

Re: Sci-Fi novel recommendations

I'm currently reading Heroes Die by Matthew Woodring Stover. If you read the Star Wars New Jedi Order series, he wrote Traitor (one of the best in the series IMO). I got to hang out and have a few beers with him for a little bit at SW Celebration III a bunch of years back and he was cool, so I bough...

Well, shit, it looks like Chad has actually been using it, just actually writing it out. Who the fuck does that?

Re: The "I just watched a movie" thread

Hey, I found the forum again! So, about Logan...I absolutely fucking LOVED it. Easily the best X-Men movie. It finally had the gritty/bloody/violent feel that a Wolverine movie deserves, but I also loved the story. It's the only comic book/superhero movie I've seen that actually made me cry (though ...

Re: The Computer Thread

heh... I'm using an old HP laptop at home (I think like 4gb ram and dual core processor), and carrying around an HP Stream (think Chromebook but with Windows 10). All I do anymore is write and edit text and record and edit audio. Not much power needed. I actually record using the Stream because it h...

Don't talk bad about Corel Draw! Now that Freehand is dead, it's the only vector program I use. I still can't stand Illustrator. In fact, fuck Illustrator.

I choose puppies over kittens. Kittens are super-cute, but grow up to be evil cats. Puppies grow up to be loyal man's best friend types.

Re: TV: What are you currently watching?

I've officially quit The Walking Dead. I've always said if that person died, I was done, so I'm sticking to my guns. I may come back to it at some point in the not-so-near future, but for now I'm using that time for something else Wasn't it well known that THAT person died in the comic books, thoug...

Watched the trailer for Logan this morning...

It looks pretty badass IMO. I'm not very familiar with the "Old Man Logan" comic storyline, but I like what I'm seeing.

Re: TV: What are you currently watching?

In other Veronica Mars news, I watched the premier of The Good Place last night. Eh...we'll see. Seems like a show that is much better in the imagination than on the screen, but Kristen Bell is still insanely hot so I may keep watching regardless.

Re: TV: What are you currently watching?

I don't know if it ever aired over here but there was a lot of talk about it on the TFN fan film board back in the day so I checked it out online. I don't remember any hubub about it over at TFN, but we definitely gushed over the show for a period of time on these boards. I remember when Chad was t...

On topic: I'm currently recording the audiobooks for my buddy's novels for royalty share. The recording is easy for me, and cutting isn't so different than video (easier actually), but I'm still getting the hang of mastering. I'm hoping what I learn doing his will lead to some better paying gigs.

So the Mindhunters description sounds exactly like a description of Criminal Minds. So can we just call this Criminal Minds: Fincher Edition?

I'm also surprised it got picked back up, I had heard it was cancelled...

Re: The "I just watched a movie" thread

I finally watched Batman v Superman. I still hate that Zack Snyder was given the reins for Superman. I hated seeing batman's origin...again. I hated Doomsday being a genetically mutated Zod. I hated Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. And I thought Wonder Woman (and the other metas) was a total waste of ...
