Re: ITT: We cheat on NP2k

I got de-modded from TFN for not showing up any more. Fucking riot! After TFN I split my time between FriendsInYourHead and here. Teague and co did an amazing job of building a community from all sorts of different corners rather than just displaced fan film forumers. In the last year, I've taken t...

Re: ITT: Faldor Quits The Day Job

I've not posted anything for a while, mainly because it felt like I was in a nose dive. Things came to a head in August where I got four or five different jobs but through no fault of my own, they failed to come together. One was doing VFX for a feature which when they sent the footage over it turne...

What Trek show had the best pilot?
Say what you will about what came after but ENTERPRISE has a really strong pilot. I've also always had a soft spot for The Cage.

Re: TV: What are you currently watching?

For example, it basically had nothing to do with Star Trek. I loved every minute of it. It felt way more Trek than all of Voyager and most of Enterprise (and I liked Enterprise) They were never going to make a series with the aesthetic of the sixties show and changing up the look and style has been...

Re: The "I just watched a movie" thread

They introduce all the characters at once in a manner that is totally confusing and then have one of them totally change his appearance, the attempt at legit science would be commendable if it wasn't for the plot being so utterly stupid as to negate it and the fact the pilot is able to move the ship...

This film should be considered one of the sci-fi greats.
Actually, it's a terrible film and an affront to cinema.

I just read Kurt Vonnegut's "The Sirens Of Titan". It was batshit insane. I rather liked it.

Re: Untitled Australian Roadtrip Movie

That sounds crazy. Why don't you like sleep?! I spent sometime in both Melbourne and Perth in 2010. Melbourne is an amazing place and Perth is the most remote city on the planet. I remember flying in and getting closer and closer and still only seeing desert. How did you get on with storing the foot...

Re: The "I just watched a movie" thread

"Dunkirk" was amazing. I thought they did a great job of having a small group of soldiers as stand-ins for the hundreds of thousands there. Mark Rylance gave a great performance as always. I know with every film someone makes the joke of a 'Cinematic Universe' but I'd love to see a shared world grou...

Re: The "I just watched a movie" thread

I finally got around to seeing Baby Driver on Sunday for Mrs Faldors birthday. I've been a fan of Edgar Wright since SPACED aired in '99 and once walked past him at Ealing Studios. I was luke warm about the film when it was announced. To be fair, I'm not excited about many films these days, I'm just...

Re: The Hell With This Podcast #33 - The Big Short

That was a fun conversation,

fun fact, I used to live in Exmouth, a sleepy seaside town for a few years and really didn't ever expect to see it appear in a hollywood movie as Brad Pitt's holiday destination of choice.
