Re: What are you reading?

I'm halfway through The Fountainhead. It's bad, but it's not the unbelievable shit show that was Atlas Shrugged.

Re: Best Films (so far) of 2016...

I thought it was very funny, but ultimately didn't rise above the superhero tropes it was supposedly parodying. Heck of a movie, I really liked it, but I can't say it'll be one of my favorites of the year. Unless the rest of the year sucks balls.

You can still skate backwards when shooting this other thing if you want to try it out.

Re: TEAM 7 - Adam B. / Mark H. / Lance / (Owen W.)

Super shitty, Chad. It's going to cost thousands to shoot the way I wanted to shoot. Any place within 100 miles seems to be the same story. I didn't want to go the green screen route like The Next Stage... But we have another script that Adam sent me at the beginning which will be much more attainab...

I just secured one of our shooting locations: http://hyaenagallery.com/

Only like three other difficult locations to go!

Re: The "I just watched a movie" thread

Watched the PG audio track on Apocalypse, CA last night. My favorite line replacement was definitely, "Stop being a goblin child! Eat a sandwich!" (instead of "Stop being a fucking child! Eat a dick!")

Adam and I are working on the script. We should talk about post production.

What will you be editing on? What OS, etc? At this point I don't know if I'm mailing you a hard drive or video tapes.

Re: Bad Movies

House of the Dead still ranks as the absolute worst movie I've ever seen in a theater. Midnight show. About 4 other people in the theater, including theater staff. They should have executed Uwe Boll after that.

Great! This team is going to rock. It is clearly superior to the other teams already. I mean, have you SEEN those people? Gimme a break. I've been a fan of your writing for many years, Adam, and I'm sure I won't be disappointed. I will email you with my limited capabilities quantified. Lance, no mat...

Re: A Fluid Guide to our Top 10 films.

Since this thread got reanimated from six months ago, I might as well... 1. Blade Runner 2. Evil Dead 2 3. The Shawshank Redemption 4. The Thing 5. Ghostbusters 6. The Hudsucker Proxy 7. Die Hard 8. Brick 9. Alien 10. Citizen Kane Quite difficult to pare it down to just ten. As far as best of 2015 g...

Re: Bad Movies

Just watched Fant4stic. It was not good, but it never sunk to the memorable depths of truly horrible movies. Simply not good. Lowest common denominator not good. Too many cooks in the kitchen not good. Not holy shit, everyone needs to witness this mess not good. I was hoping for a sense of community...

Re: TV: What are you currently watching?

Making A Murderer on Netflix is probably the most fascinating and enraging doc series I've ever seen. And the thought that this is just one instance of the Good Ol' Boy justice system in this country is also maddening. How did the bullies from high school get so much power?

Re: The "I just watched a movie" thread

Last night I saw The Hateful Eight at an industry screening. No spoilers. This is Quentin Tarantino's Spruce Goose. The first half hour alone almost had me quit, thanks to the overture and the incredibly, painfully long credits sequence where nothing much happens aside from the slow destruction of m...

Re: [SPOILERS] Star Wars - The Force Awakens [SPOILERS]

2.) The Han Solo / Chewy introduction and immediate fight sequence. Had the stink of JJ's Star Trek in there, for sure. No real stakes pertaining to the plot, other than the fact that the lead characters all needed to survive it (and of course they all would). I actually appreciated this more after...

Re: The "I just watched a movie" thread

I just watched Frozen - finally. I've had a watermarked screener DVD sitting on my TV stand for at least a whole year now. Couldn't stand most of it, especially the musical portions. The forced awkwardness of Anna was exhausting, the goddamn troll song was a test of endurance, and the fact that Elsa...
