Me too but for New York, don't worry.

Rico knows where to find me if he decides to throw his hat into the ring

Since Chad mentioned potentially being short of editors, I am able to edit more than one film should we be in need of such a service.

Am additionally available for

Re: NP2k... Film......... Festival..........?

I'm always in for teams. They lead to projects that only NP2K can make, and make writers or directors do things they wouldn't ordinarily do, whereas, I mean, the "everyone makes their own thing" model is nothing we couldn't all be doing separately. Also, they mean I can participate without directing...

Re: NP2k... Film......... Festival..........?

It depends how we do it. As a producer/director, I was planning something else for this spring or whatevs. But I'm down to write or edit.

Re: TV: What are you currently watching?

I am enjoying "Supergirl". You have to turn your brain off to a truly immense degree, but Melissa Benoist is very likeable and the Flockhart character is a hoot. It's an hour of escapist fun a week. "The Muppets": Watched because a friend works on it. There's a few good jokes a week, and I think the...

I don't have anywhere else to put it, except a blog I haven't updated in years and, well, here.

A sequel to films that have meant a lot to me deserves some unpacking. It's half the fun of the experience.

Re: [SPOILERS] Star Wars - The Force Awakens [SPOILERS]

I thought it was diverting but disposable. I'm just copy-pasting my giant-ass Facebook post: The real test of this film will not be how you feel six minutes after you leave the theater, but how you feel after six months. Nonetheless, I was entertained. Most people were. It's an entertaining film. Bu...

Re: Time To Leave Dr Doak | Goldeneye 64

You know, Goldeneye get-togethers were a big staple of my high school years, I'm surprised I haven't seen it spoofed until now. I remember the first-person slap attack and all that stuff. Although I don't know Dr Doak at all, I only know the game from multiplayer at my friends' houses!

Re: Best films (so far) of 2015?

I'm not really a Bond fan, but I fucking loved Casino Royale. It was one of those movies where I was getting positive recommendations from so many sources, including folk who normally didn't like that kind of thing, that I had to check it out, and I'm glad I did. As for "Skyfall", easily my favorite...

Grabbed it. Telling you up front I can't review it because Amazon gets pissy about Kindle authors reviewing other Kindle authors' books (which in a way I see the point of, keeps vote-trading cabals from happening).

Re: Star Wars - The Force Awakens

In the city, yeah, but taking the kid into the city for a 10:15 AM movie on a school day ain't happening. Why are international trailers a thing, in this day and age? What in that trailer, aside from the subtitles, was specially calibrated to appeal to a Japanese audience? I don't get it. (Perhaps t...

Re: Star Wars - The Force Awakens

I have my tickets, for what it's worth. My Christmas present! My half-sister* introduced me to Star Wars by bringing me a copy of Episode IV she'd taped off TV when she was babysitting me. And we will be seeing it at the same theater I saw The Phantom Menace at, although it's since been gutted and t...

— I can't come up with a story to save my life. I'll happily crow about my skills with dialogue and character and all that stuff, I can do a rewrite or an adaptation like nobody's business, I can write meandering "people hang out and nothing really happens except under the surface" pieces, but someh...

Re: Star Wars - The Force Awakens

I'm probably going to get burned burn at the stake for this but this looks like a really expensive fan film. Agreed. Although I think that the film is (cleverly, at least so far) comment on that by having Kylo Ren clearly be a "Star Wars should be dark and kewl!!!!!!!!" fanboy, trying to out-Vader ...

Re: Bad Movies

I've never seen "Batman and Robin" and often wonder if I'm missing out on the joke It's better than people give it credit for. It's a solid D. There are one or two cool sets. Michael Gough gets to play some new notes for his last outing as Alfred (even if it's subpar material) and John Glover has a...

Re: Bad Movies

I don't have _much_ of a bad movie gene — the fabled B-Fest took place every year on my college campus and I could never bother going. The bad movies I like tend to be more 'interesting failures' then outright schlock. My favorite bad movie is: "Street Fighter" — I fucking love this train wreck, whi...

Re: TV: What are you currently watching?

I actually don't watch much TV, outside of listening to a local station's sitcom reruns at night, is the weird thing. I tend to bingewatch on DVD. I don't even have cable. I was able to get through a lot of Netflix stuff this summer because I was pet-sitting for my half-sister.

Re: TV: What are you currently watching?

Oh, I've only watched five minutes of the UK House of Cards. I think I misinterpreted "watch list" as "to watch" not "watching now". My Dad saw it and said it's better. I get my Anglophilia from him. I'm told that the 'party infighting for position' stuff makes a lot more sense in the UK than in the...
