Re: NP2k "Studio" Film Fest Spring 2016 - CALL FOR ENTRANTS

Um, resources? We're supposed to have resources?! Oh shit. I'm so far beyond my comfort level and loving the idea. I've toyed with the idea of making films for a very long time (since the days of the old forum) but never had the resources so I never took my own intrest seriously. Up until the last m...

Writer Director Editor Actor Over excited guy who drags the project down due to inexperience All kidding aside, I either need to be paired up with hyper experienced players who can carry my ass or a group of similarly inexperienced players ready to problem solve our way to something awesome. Re: NP2k... Film......... Festival..........?

haha, lurking and zero experience - don't matter to me. I felt like that was always kinda the point of these fests. Working together to achieve something greater, regardless of experience. That, and we don't have enough people for you to sit this one out, Lance! haha, join in the shenanigans. I'll ...

Re: NP2k... Film......... Festival..........?

Seeing as I am just getting my feet wet shooting and editing (20 years too late) I'm down to sit over in the corner out of the way, watch, and learn what I can from the pros for now if that's cool with you guys. Not that I don't want to participate, but I have just north of zero experience, no real ...

Re: Star Wars - The Force Awakens

I'm torn between my misanthropic world view and my desire to see this movie. Pretty sure I'm going to risk the spoilers, give it a few weeks, then hit an early matinee just to avoid crowds and make it that much more enjoyable for myself. Or I'll break down and throw myself into the frenzy, who knows.

Groovy, I went browsing through the topics and caught the Colorado thread, you're quite the busy guy. I'll do my best to catch that one at SIFF this spring.

Re: In which we discuss the things for which we are paid...

Nice. We had one of the larger screen wacoms at work, but no one liked it for editorial work - so it's sitting and collecting dust now. I only started using a wacom a year ago, when my wrist finally gave out and I just couldn't use a mouse anymore without my arm feeling like it was going to fall of...

Hahaha, that's awesome. Welcome back, man! Funny, I was just about to open a "who uses a Wacom" thread... Daily. If I wasn't a poor, starving artist I would have and be glued to one of these like a teen is to their cell phone: http://www.wacom.com/en-us/products/pen-displays/cintiq-companion-2

Re: The movie currently known as "VOID"

I look forward to seeing this happen Chad. I remember talk of it on the forums before I wandered off into life. I still have a copy of "Drugs" burnt to disk sitting in my archives and "Apocalypse,CA" was enjoyable. Any movement forward on "Void" since you posted this in August?

Re: Best films (so far) of the 2010's

So I don't re-list what's already been discussed I'll go with one that sort of flew under the mainstream radar: The Warrior's Way. Once you get past the visual overkill I really liked this movie. A well executed blend of genres in my opinion, and a bad guy that is just pure, unapologetic, evil.

Re: In which we discuss the things for which we are paid...

I was feeling all nostalgic and look what I found. I went by "omen" back in the day. I still art all over people, push suspended pigments around on various surfaces, scribble mindless images on dead tree fiber, move a stylus around on a wacom, and still have absolutely nothing to do with the film/te...
