Re: The DEFUNCT Team(s) Thread

I plan on shooting regardless. I have everything lined up except for which outdoor location to shoot what shot when the weather feels like cooperating with my work schedule. Festival or no, I'm going to make a short (hopefully one people will enjoy watching but no promises). I'm pretty sure the team...

Re: TV: What are you currently watching?

See, that's where the problem is. The crew has "Fuck it, Chad can fix it in post" in the back of their minds as they're setting a camera on a skateboard and kicking it down the sidewalk.

Team 3 - Script delivered from Martin to Lance. I think.
Team 8 - Lance has tweaked and delivered a new script to Martin??? Yes?
Sure, let's go with that.

Re: TV: What are you currently watching?

I just saw that scene this morning. It's like the camera fell into a hole or something right at the end. The whole frame shifted weirdly. Now I can't get it out of my head. Pretty sure that's where they rolled off of the curb into the street with no ramp. Maybe the shot traveled farther than antici...

Re: TV: What are you currently watching?

On ep9 of season 4 HOC. Is it funny that now i notice little, insignificant things like the dolly's side to side wiggle as it went over the cracks in the sidewalk when they walked the dog in ep5? I never would've before. Np2k has ruined my life. :D

Other than a title, I'm good with the script I have for team 3 though communication with my British cohorts is intermittent (time differences, work schedules).

Re: TEAM 3 - Faldor / Lance / Owen W. / (Fig)

So I've had this Nikon D5100 for a whole day now, which makes me an expert in all things film. Really though, I love this thing. The ability to control and lock the aperture and set the shutter manually is fucking genius. Even have my custom "Flat Cinema" setting all locked in and test footage ready...

Re: TEAM 8 - Lance / Faldor / Zach N. / (Chad P.)

Just read it. As I said back to Martin via email, it's a little contrived and reads like a bad 90's sci-fi - but could be awesome in a heightened over-the-top state. Just my two cents. My biggest concern is that Martin would have to make it look like a million bucks to make it believable (given the...

Re: TEAM 3 - Faldor / Lance / Owen W. / (Fig)

Yeah, pulled the trigger and bought a barely used (at least that's how it's described with pictures to back it up) Nikon D5100. Same size sensor as the D7000, shoots 1080p24, and is a decent camera to boot. If I can swing it I'll pick up a 50mm 1.4 or 1.8 lens but I need a microphone, and maybe a st...

Ok, I lied, I do have a little coin to invest in a DSLR maybe. I know it's not the arrow, it's the indian, but it helps if the arrow isn't bent to begin with.

I wish we had a gallery like this around here (I thought of starting one but don't have the startup capitol), I love it.

I've put the latest revision up for Martin to give a once over. If he likes it one of us will get copies out to you guys to give some input. If not, I'll get another revision together as quick as possible.

Re: TEAM 3 - Faldor / Lance / Owen W. / (Fig)

Maybe I glossed over something important in this thread, but I seem to remember 1080p60 being the format that "Apocalypse, CA" was shot in (actually it was 720p60), but the "60" didn't count for fps. There was a separate option within the camera to set it to 24fps recording (at 1080p60). I can't im...

At this point we have an eight page script that we're fine tuning and possibly re-arranging a part of so we can add in another scene. The story is solidified. After this next revision maybe we'll share.

Re: TEAM 3 - Faldor / Lance / Owen W. / (Fig)

What model of camera is it, Lance? It's a Panasonic hc-v201. You actually didn't miss it, there was a PM conversation that started it all. This is far from a pro-sumer quality camera but it tries ( good quality video/ manual focus, iris, and shutter controls) My format options are: avchd 1080p60 / ...
