The Hell With This Podcast #31 - Prince of Darkness

Post by Chad Peter » Sun Jul 16, 2017 5:39 pm

Mark and Chad dive deep into John Carpenter's "Prince of Darkness" - a film which Chad is seeing for the first time.  They talk about their collective love of Carpenter's collected works and the sentimentality they feel for that "lost" brand of filmmaking.  Actually, it's kind of a depressing episode, so have a beer handy and drink down your sorrows.

Something we never got around to talking about in the podcast is the combination of universal good/evil and quantum physics. I don't understand quantum physics, but I did enjoy it as the concept in this movie - one of the last unknown places the devil could be hiding. Like in the map of the universe as we know it, the spaces in between the subatomic particles are labeled "Here There Be Dragons." Maybe JC can make a sequel based around discoveries at the Large Hadron Collider.

You know... when someone bends you over a phone booth!

I feel like a phone booth wouldn't be that bad to be bent over?

Looking at that list of representatives looming over him, I'm gonna go on a short limb to say there's no chance in hell he'd ever do our shitty little podcast.

I did at least get a pleasant "no" out of Rian Johnson when I asked him to do our podcast a month ago (he's kinda busy with something). John Carpenter might bless us with something more akin to a "fuck off". I suppose I could always ask Fincher, but I value my job here. hehe
