TV: What are you currently watching?

The heart of 2k. Back again, since 1999... give or take a few restarts.

I gave up on it after the third episode. It was boring and taking too long to get to the point... any point really. Did something interesting finally happen? Should I give it a couple more episodes?

hah. Yeah, man... I would not be the right person to make any sort of suggestion for you on whether or not you'd like it beyond the third episode. My guess is no, you wouldn't, because I've loved just about every episode.

Currently watching: Westworld (very excited).

And I'm on season 4 of a Gilmore Girls rewatch.

That needed to be said again.

National Geographic have a really good series on at the moment called Mars. It's half doc half drama following the first Mars mission in 2033 intercut with what actual plans and speculation on such a mission. Brilliant stuff.

That Westworld finale was easily in the top-5 season finales of ALL TIME. T'was brilliant. Can't wait to see where they take it from here, because - frankly - they could take it ANYWHERE.

I read a quote somewhere from E.R. Wood saying something to the effect of now that the first season is over, they can finally get started on the story. So basically, the first season was all set-up for the series.

Right now, I'm making my way through Medici: Masters of Florence in between The Grand Tour. Oh, and Top Chef has started up again.

Archer Vice was pretty funny.
Glad that a show can go off the rails and still work. Although I guess its easier with comedies...

First episode of With Bob & David was great.
Other episodes not as much so far.

Think I'm gonna try to watch Westworld while I'm here at my parents house for vacation.

Wheeeee!

Along with Westworld, I: Binge watched Continuum, all four seasons. Slasher season 1: meh. Kicked American Horror Story: Hotel to the curb after two and a half episodes. Still keeping up with TWD even though it's the same thing over and over. Vikings season 4, still brutal. Tried to watch Pretty Little Liars then realized I wasn't part of the angsty teen mystery drama demographic, who knew? Started Crazyheads: episode 1 looked promising.

hahaha trying to watch PLL - been there, at least to be supportive of Lucy, but I just couldn't hang for a full episode.

How was Continuum?

And Vikings is good?

I enjoyed Continuum. Its well written for the most part, a little forced emotionally (but I immediately key into that sort of thing) and standard character archetypes. Visually pleasing without getting too candy. It's not Firefly Caliber Sci-Fi but it kept me coming back.

Vikings is one of those slow build shows like TWD that pushes the boundaries of visual brutality that you might think was just for shock value if you knew nothing about Norse culture, history, and mythology. The truth is they keep it very close to how the Viking society would've existed right down to the rituals and practices that gave them such a barbaric reputation. All of the characters are from lore with there respective attributes. There's really nothing about the show I don't like. Will you like it? I don't know, give it a whirl.

Oh, yeah, been keeping up with Lucifer and Gotham, and lost interest in the Black List... Jesus I watch a lot of tv for someone who doesn't even have cable.
