Upcoming Films Thread
Decided I need a thread like this around, because I haven't got the haziest idea what the fuck movies are coming out before Star Wars.
Only thing I've seen a preview for that looks remotely interesting, is "Sicario". Anybody?

Re: Upcoming Films Thread
I am really looking forward to 'The Martian'. I read the book during a shooting in London earlier in the year and loved it. The film seems to be hitting every note perfectly.
Re: Upcoming Films Thread
After "Prisoners", I'm excited for Sicario as well.
Emily Blunt has really grown on me. And I'm finally starting to appreciate Benicio del Toro as a phenomenal actor.
Also:
Black Mass
I want to be excited for Crimson Peak but Guillermo frequently disappoints.
Spectre
Is that it? There's always a ton of great films that come out of the woodwork that you don't hear about till the day before they release.

Pretty much agree with everything you said. From Blunt (meow) to Del Toro.Lank wrote:After "Prisoners", I'm excited for Sicario as well.

My lady read that book a while ago and is super psyched for it. I'm giving it the Interstellar treatment and avoiding all trailers until we go.Faldor wrote:I am really looking forward to 'The Martian'. Might've seen the Sicario trailer in theaters, I recall being pumped for an Emily Blunt action/thriller.
Steve Jobs, of course. Anything Sorkin and I'm there ASAP.
Spectre, Craig's run finally got me interested in James Bond haha. I've still not seen much of the old ones.
Hunger Games 4, because this series keeps on surprising me with its increasing level of quality dramatic tension. And archery. And J-Law.
In the Heart of the Sea. Wasn't this supposed to be out like a year ago? Every time I've been to my IMAX theatre, the poster's still been there. They had me at Howard & Hemsworth, and it looks pretty cool. Bonus: Tom Holland, since I've not seen him in anything yet.
Concussion. I have not been liking Big Willie Style's films lately, but this one looks right up my alley.
I'll maybe rent Point Break because I <3 the original and I'm curious in the same way I was for Fantastic 4. Oh god it just looks so bad though.
BUT WHO CARES STAR WARS YOU GUYS

Did some stabilization work on "The Revenant", which releases on Christmas Day. New trailer came out yesterday and it looks bonkers.

I have to be honest I didn't really like Birdman (I know I know) but my god if "The Revenant" doesn't look like it has the goods. I just hope that trailer isn't a 2 and half minute cut of the movie.

Re: Upcoming Films Thread
Funny... yeah, a whole lotta people didn't like Birdman. I loved it, but Michael Keaton is one of my favorite actors. Too bad he's got a reputation (and has screamed at the girl I'm dating (not in a good way)).Grant wrote:I have to be honest I didn't really like Birdman (I know I know) but my god if "The Revenant" doesn't look like it has the goods. Re: Upcoming Films Thread
Had to resurrect this thread. Been having difficulty picking out what interesting films I remember having seen trailers for. Or, early onset Alzheimer's.
Trailers that have looked vaguely interesting:
"Sully" - looks a bit overdone, but awesome.

"The Childhood of a Leader" - Great look - directed by an actor I like.

"Anthropoid" - ww2 suspense
http://trailers.apple.com/trailers/inde ... nthropoid/
"Gleason" - ALS documentary

"Keeping up with the Joneses" - Always been fond of director Greg Mottola's work after "Superbad" and "Adventureland"
http://trailers.apple.com/trailers/fox/ ... hejoneses/
"The Lovers and the Despot" - documentary that looks fucking great.

While on the subject of upcoming movies... my short film "Colorado" is playing alongside a movie I hadn't heard of called "Bridgend" (at the Perth film fest) - the trailer looks pretty great for Bridgend:

Re: Upcoming Films Thread
Was wondering where the hell Natalie Portman disappeared to. Turns out she's been... directing a feature film? In Israel. In Hebrew.
"A Tale of Love and Darkness"

"Wonder Woman" looks awesome. And this poster is gorgeous.

Lastly, "Justice League" looks so bad I'm not even gonna link the trailer.

Also agreed, although I am liking Jason Mamoa here. It appears he knows full-well that this is going to be a shit show and he's hamming it up appropriately. We shall see.Chad Peter wrote:Lastly, "Justice League" looks so bad I'm not even gonna link the trailer.

Hah, well he's certainly the least worst thing in the trailer. Other than Gal Godot, of course.Nic wrote:Also agreed, although I am liking Jason Mamoa here. It appears he knows full-well that this is going to be a shit show and he's hamming it up appropriately. We shall see.
