I'll need to go back and watch the original again to remember what in the hell happened. Should be fun, regardless - Boyle is still a fun director.Nic wrote:Oh boy oh boy!

Someone made a movie about Columbine, with a cameo by Jesus.

If you've ever seen "Elephant" by Gus Van Sant, now there's a movie about Columbine (not literally Columbine but you know), now that's something that's worth your time.
I am amazed that a well-meaning uplifting Christian movie was made about her before Cassie Bernall.

I haven't, actually, but I'm sure I'd find it interesting - even if Gus's longer-winded efforts are hard to watch (I'm looking at YOU, Gerry).Adam Bertocci wrote:If you've ever seen "Elephant" by Gus Van Sant, now there's a movie about Columbine (not literally Columbine but you know), now that's something that's worth your time.

They released it in cinemas over here and it was one of the tensest cinematic experiences I've had since Sorcerer*
(Ok, I only saw Sorcerer last year, but it was fucking tense.)

Elephant might be my favorite Gus Van Sant film, it's definitely one of his aimless efforts but that mundane atmosphere it builds just makes the crescendo all the more intense.

Hmmm, I guess I'll have to check it out. It might be the only film of his that I haven't seen.Grant wrote:Elephant might be my favorite Gus Van Sant film, it's definitely one of his aimless efforts but that mundane atmosphere it builds just makes the crescendo all the more intense.

Well... this IS still "NP"2k after all, so I guess we can still take liberties with the "NP" part of it.
Was kinda shocked to see NP acting again after a significant break (Jane got a gun doesn't count - they shot that like five years ago). The beginning of this trailer looked kinda awful, but then it keeps getting better and better. Looks actually pretty awesome.

New poster for a film I did a handful of VFX for (days prior to leaving for Germany/Bristol). No trailer yet. "A Cure For Wellness" - Gore Verbinski going back to his "indie" roots (looks like anything but an indie)

Re: Upcoming Films Thread
Watched the trailer for Logan this morning...
It looks pretty badass IMO. I'm not very familiar with the "Old Man Logan" comic storyline, but I like what I'm seeing.

Re: Upcoming Films Thread
Seeing as they've had two go's and not yet managed to make a good Wolverine film I was ready for this to be a write-off but a film about Logan raising a kid in a forest with a dementia riddled Prof X living in the attack seems way more fun than running up and down exploding bullet trains.
In other news, I can't believe no one ever hired Huge Jackman to play Clint Eastwood, I mean technically there is still time to cast him as an older Clint making Space Cowboys or someshit...

Yeah, LOGAN looks pretty fucking great. Colour me SHOCKED, because I had zero interest in another fucking Wolvie spin-off until seeing this.

Hey now, the last Wolverine movie was pretty good!
And I say that as someone who's been over Wolverine as a character for at least 15 years.

Forgot they even made that one. Wasn't that the one Aronofsky was supposed to direct?Lank wrote:Mr. Wolverine Goes To Japan.
