Justice League? More like -- There is No Justice ...League.
At this point I really don't know WHY they're continuing to keep the current DCU. They really REALLY should ditch the entire thing.

I think if Wonder Woman had also been a failure they could've. But with that film they have a huge hit and a big star and must plow on.

Casualty of war. They should pull a "New 52" and fucking blow up the whole thing, but keep Wonder Woman as the only one that remembers the past universe.

Sounds like this was kind of the plan already. The Flash movie was supposed to be called "Flashpoint", which in the comics directly lead to the 52 reboot. So presumably Superman goes bad in Justice League 1 as per Batman's dream in BvS, then Flash fixes the timeline in his movie.

"The Darkest Hour" was bloody great, and a fantastic companion piece to "Dunkirk" (if not better than).

I'm not usually a James Franco enthusiast but 'The Disaster Artist' was a lot of fun.

I thought Molly's Game was very good.

I concur. Very solid, indeed.

Downsizing, not so much.

And Three Billboards outside of Ebbing, Missouri was decent as well.

Lady Bird was fun at times (beginning and end), and dull at others (middle). Maybe I shouldn't have watched it when I was exhausted. Very stylistic and looking forward to see Greta Gerwig's next movie.

On a side note: I assumed this took place in the 90's, but was disappointed to find it was based in 2002. Did we skip over the 90's nostalgia films, jumping straight from the 80's nostalgia to 2000's? ...Not that the 90's were all that incredible.

You’re right! I was thinking this earlier when someone pointed out that “That 70s Show” would be “That 90s Show” if made today with the same timespan.

Technically the Harry Potter films/books were set in the 90s but nobody noticed.

But yeah, doesn’t seem to be an era that can be romanticised for some reason.

But back on topic, not seen a lot lately but really enjoyed Three Billboards. Had the pacing of an older movie which I really liked.

Harry Potter is based in the 90's? huh...

WHO KNEW. (only you did, apparently).

Saw ANNIHILATION last night. Interesting film and a bit of a mind fuck. I had some wacky dreams last night because of it - dreams that I think actually made me wonder if certain parts of the film were tricks. Need to write out my thoughts at some point and revisit it.

Back to the Future is about a kid from 1985 who travels back in time to 1955.

We are farther from 1985 now than it was from 1955.

Is that a good or a bad thing?

Next question: had you heard of the whole Tonya Harding story? I've met a few Brits that hadn't. Even Margot Robbie said she read the script without having heard it was based on a true story.

It is a good thing. I'd never heard of Tonya Harding but Mrs Faldor had, due to her interest in true crime. I thought we were sitting down to watch some ice skating biopic and suddenly it all goes a bit Big Lebowski!
